Wild Women Live

The women behind some of the UK’s best-loved wildlife programmes are heading to Newcastle next year as part of a new nationwide tour.

Wild Women Live – The Tour comes to Tyne Theatre & Opera House on Wednesday 12th May 2027, bringing together female wildlife presenters, filmmakers, camera operators and storytellers to share what it takes to capture the natural world on screen.

The Newcastle line-up includes broadcaster Michaela Strachan, known for The Really Wild Show, Countryfile and Springwatch, alongside wildlife camera operator and presenter Anna Dimitriadis, whose credits include Big Cats 24/7 and Tiger Island.

They will be joined on stage by filmmaker Libby Penman and environmental journalist and author Sarah Roberts.

The evening promises behind-the-scenes stories from filming in some of the world’s most challenging environments, from jungles and Arctic landscapes to Britain’s coastlines and countryside.

Michaela Strachan says: “Our wild women span an incredible range of work within natural history; field science, long-lens, underwater and drone cinematography, environmental investigation, conservation campaigning, children’s storytelling and the creation of wildlife films audiences around the world.

“I am so excited to bring us all together to create a show which is inspiring, candid and alive with the humour and unpredictability of working in the wild.”

Wild Women Live will visit 29 venues across the UK during spring 2027 and tickets are on sale now. For more information, visit www.wildwomenlive.com.
