One of the North East’s best-loved events, The Hoppings, is back – and bringing the world’s tallest travelling ride!
Returning to the Town Moor from 19th-28th June 2026, this year’s event will feature Elevate85, a £3 million attraction standing at an impressive 85 metres tall.
The white-knuckle star flyer ride was a huge hit when it launched in Berlin last year and it will make its Newcastle debut this summer, giving thrill-seekers the chance to enjoy panoramic views across the city while spinning through the air at speed.
Fairground favourite the Log Flume is also set to return, with riders climbing up a ramp before before plunging into the water below for that classic splash finale.
This year, Feast Street – home to a range of international food vendors – has been upgraded, with visitors able to enjoy everything from loaded doughnuts and gourmet burgers to Mexican favourites and freshly made pizza.
The Live Lounge also returns, showcasing local music talent alongside character meet-and-greets for youngsters.
There are a few changes to the site this year due to a large-scale drainage project taking place on the Town Moor. Ryan Crow of event organiser Crow Events said: “We have carefully reconfigured the site to ensure everyone’s favourite rides and stalls will be present, alongside our exciting new attractions.
“The good news is that the essential drainage upgrades that are taking place will hopefully future-proof the Town Moor and help us to continue the proud tradition of The Hoppings in the years to come.”
