Malmaison Newcastle room

One of Newcastle’s best-known Quayside hotels has unveiled a £3.5million makeover just in time for summer stays in the city.

Malmaison Newcastle, set within a Grade II listed building near the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, has completely refurbished all 122 of its rooms and suites.

The redesigned interiors feature a bold colour palette and contemporary wallpaper, with wall art showcasing Newcastle landmarks, giving the hotel a stylish new look rooted in the city’s local heritage.

The hotel’s 14 suites and junior suites on the seventh floor have also been renovated. Each suite, named after famous ships in tribute to Newcastle’s shipbuilding history, now has its own unique design.

Bathrooms have also been updated with sleek white tiling, modern fittings and luxury products from Scottish brand Arran.

Guests will also find subtle nods to the North East elsewhere throughout the hotel, including magpie wings and abstract artwork featuring the Tyne’s famous bridges.

Malissa Charlton, Cluster Sales Manager at Malmaison and Hotel du Vin Newcastle, said: “We want our guests to enjoy a premium stay when they come to Malmaison Newcastle and our rooms add to the exceptional experience which we aim to provide to each and every customer who comes to visit.”
