Comedy at The Stand
Whether you’re both in need of light relief from the daily grind or just love to laugh, The Stand comedy club on High Bridge is always worth a punt. Its weekly beginner’s showcase ‘Red Raw’ is dubbed the best open mic night in the UK, and you might even strike it lucky, as sometimes high-profile comedians drop in unexpectedly to test out their new material.
Eatflix
Where the silver screen meets the creative flair of a tasting menu. Eatflix is a new 5D cinematic tasting experience in Heaton and the concept is simple: enjoy food and drinks inspired by the movie you’re watching. It’s been super popular since launching in early 2025, and previous film showings have included Matilda and Ratatouille.
Golf Fang
Golf Fang is a crazy golf experience for grown-ups. Located in Hoults Yard, this large warehouse is a mish mash of neon graffiti, artwork, fairy lights and quirky backdrops at every twist and turn along the 18-hole golf course. A tunnel of love, glow-in-the-dark 10 pin bowling alley and giant arcade claw machine all feature, and you can re-fuel with tasty burgers and cocktails.
Tipple in the Tunnel
Discover one of Newcastle’s hidden gems with a glass of wine in hand, as part of Hotel du Vin and Ouseburn Trust’s Tipple in the Tunnel tours. You’ll start your evening off with a glass of fizz at this stylish hotel before embarking on a mini-tour of the Victoria Tunnel – a wagonway that was used by the Victorians to transport coal to the River Tyne – all whilst sipping on three exquisite wines.
Bowling at Lane 7
Lane 7 on St James Boulevard is best described as a boutique bowling experience, and its darkly-lit uber cool setting pairs perfectly with its slick bar and restaurant. Add beer pong, pool tables, ping pong and arcade games into the mix, plus a karaoke booth, and your whole date night is covered from start to finish.
