The world’s most Instagrammable café, EL&N has arrived in the heart of Newcastle. Prepare to indulge in the most decadent treats and chicest of interiors.

With cafes worldwide – from Paris and Milan to Dubai and Kuala Lumpur – EL&N (short for Eat, Live & Nourish) is a cafe and lifestyle brand that set out to elevate the cafe culture scene.

It comes as no surprise to hear that the founder, Alexandra Miller, spent a decade in the world of luxury fashion, as her boutique cafes are so much more than just places to eat and drink – they’re ultra fashionable destinations.

It all started in 2017 with a cafe in London’s Mayfair, and now, 7 years later, the Toon has its very own EL&N.

I enjoyed a sneak peek before it officially opened to the public – here’s what you need to know.

The prettiest interior

The cafe is the stuff of Instagram dreams – definitely my kinda vibe with the soft pink and green palette, elegant neon signs and dried flowers draped from the ceiling.

The cafe is situated next to Fenwick’s newly revamped Beauty Hall and it seamlessly fits into this luxe setting. You could say it’s a match made in department store heaven!

EL&N's menu in Fenwick

On the menu, there’s an assortment of all-day brunch dishes, supreme croissants, salads, toasties, sandwiches, and the most scrumptious selection of cakes, single serve treats and cheesecakes.

Price wise, you can expect to pay around the £8 mark for a slice (huge slab) of cake and £11-£13 for its main dishes.

You can also enjoy mocktails, specialty lattes, coffees, iced drinks, bubble teas and lemonades.

Expect imaginatively presented creations, rainbow-bright mixtures and cute floral garnishes – and have your camera at the ready!

On my visit, the Ombré Passion Fruit Cooler and Nutella French Toast were my personal favourites. And, I promise, they taste just as good as they look!

Is EL&N worth visiting?

Fenwick is on a roll when it comes to the expansion of its food and drink offering, with Hjem, Mother Mercy, Barbour’s Tea & Toasties pop up and Fred’s tea room already spread over several floors, not to mention its popular Food Hall and rooftop bar.

I’d say that EL&N is very much in good company at Fenwick, appealing to shoppers and foodies who crave all things sweet and stylish!

And is it just me, or does the idea of heading to the Beauty Hall for a new lippy followed by a slice of cake here sound like the perfect combination?
