Newcastle Wine Week

Newcastle Wine Week is back, offering local wine lovers the chance to try new vintages at some of the city’s best bars and eateries, all at a reduced price.

The event, taking place from 19th to 28th June 2026, was launched last year by East Boldon-based wine expert Leah Newman. As the founder of Whispering Wine, she also runs wine tasting events locally and organises trips across Europe.

To take part, you just need to purchase a Newcastle Wine Week wristband, which gives you 50% off glasses and bottles of wine at participating venues.

Everyone who signs up will also gain access to a selection of half-price tasting flights and specially curated pairings.

Venues already confirmed for the 10-day event include House of Tides, The French Quarter, Kaltur (at Dean Street and High Bridge Street), Dobson and Parnell, Gino D’Acampo, Victor Indigo November, Dood, and Blackfriars.

Wristbands can also be used at Cavavin, Osters, Lovage, Pique, Gosforth Traders, Colonel Porter’s, Hotel du Vin, Jesmond Wines, Angels Share, and Las Casa Delicatessen.

Speaking about her inspiration for the event, Leah said: “The whole idea was about making great wine more accessible. It means that people can really experience wines at a price that isn’t often available and hopefully discover a whole new world.”

Wristbands are priced at £14.99 and can be purchased online at www.wine-week.co.uk.
